Kickboxing provides a sense of self-esteem. You’ll get to know how to defend yourself all while losing weight and getting in awesome shape. Our teachers are all fighters and they’ll show you effective technique to get the most strength and speed from your kicks and punches. Just because our instructors are fighters doesn’t mean you’ll have to fight. Warm Up Routine


Dynamic Stretching for five mins and then right into jumping rope. 3 Three minute rounds of jump rope and in-between rounds we do some exercises. Priming your body by breaking a light sweat will really help you get the most out of the rest of class.


Bag Work


Its time to hit stuff! We glove up and get ready to go. At Westchester Fight Club we have a bag rack with 30 bags, so every student in class can have their own. Kickboxing is the best stress reliever. There’s nothing more relaxing then winding up and punching a heavy bag as hard as you can and placing life’s issues on the back burner for the hour of class. The instructor will show you a combo that you’ll do for the full round and try to perfect before you get out of breathe. Then between the round you’ll catch a quick breather, just enough time to teach the next round’s combination. After a class or 2 you will begin to look like you know how to kick some @ ss. The more classes you take the better you will get, a lot of new students think a couple of our women in cardio kickboxing classes are competitors, thats how good their technique has gotten.


Pad work

When we are done on the punching bags we change it up and have you pair up with another girl in class. One girl will hold pads for the other. Brand-new girls will have simpler combos while our girls that have been with us longer have more difficult combinations. In your very first session you’ll realize that holding mitts isn’t a rest period . Its pretty much just as hard as punching them.


Crunch Time


The core of your body, which includes the abs and lower back muscles, will get an unintended work out just by performing the punches and kicking movements. Even so, a full kickboxing workout should include training the stomach and back muscles through such movements as leg raises, siccors, and planks. All power starts at your core so this work will help you out in future sessions.
