Stretching and Jump Rope


We blast some music on the radio and then start our stretches. We have to get the mood and energy level up to get going. Whatever the trainer goes with that day the same as the music, warm up with some stretching, jogging, or jump rope. We perspire and elevate your heart rate to get the most from your workout and help prevent injury.


Time to De-stress


Now its time to punch stuff! We glove up and get ready to go. Our bag rack holds thirty bags, this isn’t a taebo class, you want to feel your fist strike something when you throw a blow. Pounding the crap out of a bag and pretending its your manager or ex boyfriend is the best stress relief. The instructor will give you a combo that you’ll work on for the whole round and attempt to get it right before you get out of breathe. Then after the round you’ll catch a quick breather, just long enough to demonstrate the next round’s combo. After a couple of classes you’ll begin to appear like you know what you are doing. You will most likely feel a little uncoordinated and off base in the first workout, no matter what your fitness level. Considering that the challenging techniques will be different for your body, not just your brain. Though the combinations usually are made up of pretty basic combinations, when all is said and done, it is a routine that gets easier with time. Plan to give yourself 3 or 4 classes before you feel comfortable with the techniques. Many routines combine the same basic movements in a different order or part of the combination.


Pad work

At this point we have the class partner up. Its not to make you square off with your parnter, now you’ll for each other. Now you and your workout partner will look like a coach and their boxer, and you will get to swap and play both sides. Don’t get discouraged either, just like it takes a few sessions to feel balanced and smooth punching the mitts and boxing bags, the same thing can be said for getting to know how to hold pads. By your 2nd or 3rd kickboxing class it will be a breeze for you.


Crunch Time


The entire body mechanics of throwing a punch or kick already gives you a sick ab and core workout. In our workouts we still make time to isolate our core and do some ab work. Sit ups, Planks, med ball slams,.

and twists make you feel the burn and get your midsection ready for bikini season.


Now its time to grab some free weights. This is a great way to build muscle while forcing your body to burn a few extra calories. Using both cardio and weight lifting in the session will help tone and define your arms, back, and shoulders. Pounding on the heavy bag and holding pads already have your arms like jelly but there is no bitching now if you want tight and defined shoulders, back, and arms.


Cool Down

Congrats, you dominated it and made it through your first class.


Each component of our class will train the major muscles of the body. The combination of using the muscles in such a fast manner tones as well as develops a stamina that can accelerate your metabolism. It will not take long to see the benefits of this intense workout.
