A different exercise routine will keep your body guessing and adapting, so you might be sore in areas you never felt before. Kickboxing will switch up your workout and result in body toning and an increasing in cardio endurance. Those two things are what every person wants from their workout. You will practice like a fighter without having the fear of getting hit because our Women’s Only Cardio Kickboxing Classes are non contact. So rather than sparring with other students, the only thing you will be attacking is our equipment or striking pads. Lets break down our 1 hour cardio kickboxing session at WFC.
Stretching and Jump Rope
We blast some beats on the stereo system and then start our warmup. Have a high energy feel in the room before we start. What ever the instructor chooses that day much like the radio, we’ll warm up with some stretching, jogging, or jump rope. We want to get the muscles warm and loose in order to get the most out of the rest of the workout.
Working on the Boxing Bags
Time to hit stuff! We glove up and get ready to go. At Westchester Fight Club we have a bag rack with 30 bags, so every student in class can have their own. Boxing is a great stress reliever. There’s nothing more relaxing then winding up and hitting a punching bag as hard as you can and placing life’s drama on mute for the hour of class. We aren’t just whacking the punching bag aimlessly, the instructor will take you through various combos working with punches, knees, and kicks. The more you train the better you will get, a lot of new clients think a few of our women in cardio kickboxing classes are competitors, thats how good their striking has gotten.
Now we do partner drills. Its not to make you square off with your parnter, now you’ll pads for each other. Now you get to imitate a trainer holding mitts for his fighter then change off and become the fighter striking the mitts. You might feel a little a little bit like a newb but don’t worry, it takes a few try’s to get your moves down, both for striking mitts and for being a good gym buddy and holding them. After your first or 2nd class it’ll be a breeze .
6 Pack Secrets
The full body motion of throwing a punch or kick already gives you a great ab and core workout. We still make time to train our ladies’ stomaches and do some abdominal work. Sit ups, side planks, med ball slams,.
and twists make you feel the burn and get you ready for the beach.
