Free Kickboxing Classes in Scarsdale

Our classes are all non contact so you can practice just like a fighter without ever having to stress that people in your office will think you’re abused at home. Stretching/Warm-up
Our warmup begins with high energy music, whatever we are in the mood for that day, Rock, EDM, or some 90′s pop. We have to get the atmosphere and energy level up to get going. Then we will do some light stretching and also sprint some laps around the mat or jump rope. We break a sweat and elevate your heart rate in order to get the most out of your training and help reduce the chances of injury.
Gloves on
Right now we strap up our gloves and start punching stuff. Our bag area holds 30 bags, this isn’t a taebo class, you want to feel your fist strike something when you throw a punch . Beating the crap out of a punching bag and pretending its your compliance officer or ex boyfriend is the greatest stress reducer. The coach will give you a combo that you will work on for the entire round and try to get it right before you get out of breathe. Then after the round you’ll catch a quick breather, just long enough to teach the next round’s combination. After a couple of classes you’ll start to look like you know how to kick some @ ss. The more you train the better you will become, a lot of new clients think a few of our women in cardio kickboxing classes are fighters, thats how awesome their technique has gotten.
After a couple rounds on the boxing bags we then partner students and give you boxing pads or a kick shield. Now we do partner drills with one partner holding mitts while the other is punching, kicking, bobbing, and weaving. We divide the class into beginner and more advanced girls so the newer students have simpler more basic combos while the more advanced kick boxers get longer more advanced combinations. Don’t for a second think that holding mitts is a break, in your first workout you will realize very quick that holding pads is almost as tough as hitting them.
Time for Abs
The whole body mechanics of throwing a punch or kick already gives you an amazing ab and core workout. In our workouts we still make time to work on our core and do some abdominal work. bicycles, Planking, medicine ball slams,.
and twists make you feel the burn and get you toned for bikini season.
Finishing Strong
And your first training session is done. Props for pushing it and making it through. 60 minutes of kickboxing burns more calories then lifting weights, running on a running machine , or riding a bike.
