The first 15 minutes

Our warmup begins with high energy music, whatever we are in the mood for that day, Rock, EDM, or some 90′s pop. We have to get the mood and energy level up to get going. Whichever the teacher chooses that day the same as the music, we’ll warm up with some stretching, jogging, or jump rope. We perspire and elevate your heart rate in order to get the most from your training and help prevent injury.

Time to Hit Stuff

Right now we put on our boxing gloves and start punching stuff. At Westchester Fight Club we have a bag rack with 30 boxing bags, so everyone in class can have their own. Kickboxing is a great stress reliever. There’s nothing better then winding up and hitting a punching bag as hard as you can and putting life’s problems on the back burner for the sixty minutes of class. The coach will show you a combination that you’ll do for the entire round and try to perfect before you get out of breathe. Then after the round you’ll catch a quick breather, just enough time to demonstrate the next round’s combo. After a class or 2 you’ll start to look like you know what you’re doing. The more classes you take the better you will become, a lot of new clients think a few of our women in cardio kickboxing classes are competitors, thats how good their kickboxing has gotten.

Partner Up

Following a couple rounds on the punching bags we then pair up members and give you boxing pads or a kick shield. One student will hold pads for another. We split it up into new girls and more advanced girls so the new students have easier more basic combinations while the more skilled kick boxers get longer more intricate combos. In your very first workout you will find out that holding pads isn’t a rest period . Its almost just as challenging as punching them.

Ab Round

Your abdominals will definitely be feeling all the kicks and punches you have thrown. In our classes we still make time to work on our core and do some abdominal movements. siccors, Planking, medicine ball slams,.

and twists help to make you feel the burn and get your midsection toned for the beach.

Now its time to grab some free weights. Time to finish strong and push through class is almost over. Our women also workout with some weights during class. Boxing will help define your arms but after a 15 minutes on the punching bag picking up a pair of dumbbells and lifting with the class will help you achieve the defined and toned arms you’re looking for.

The Home Stretch

We finish our training with some stretching and high fives for a job well done. In an hour of Boxing you scorched more calories than you could jogging on a treadmill machine , riding a bike, or lifting weights.

Each component of our training will train the major muscles of the body. The combination of using the muscles in such a quick manner tones as well as builds an endurance that can quicken your metabolism.
