Working on the Boxing Bags
Now its time to put on our gloves and start hitting stuff. Our bag area holds 30 bags, this isn’t a taebo class, you need to feel your fist strike something when you throw a punch . Pounding the crap out of a boxing bag and pretending its your boss or ex boyfriend is the best stress reliever. We aren’t just hitting the heavy bag aimlessly, the trainer will take you through several combinations using punches, knees, and kicks. You will probably seem a bit uncoordinated and off balance in the first lesson, no matter what your fitness level. Since the difficult combos will be different for your muscles, not just your brain. Though the combinations usually are pretty basic combinations, when all is said and done, it is a technique that improves with practice. Plan to give yourself 3 or 4 sessions before you feel comfortable with the movements. All sessions blend the same basic moves in a different order or part of the combination.
Now we do partner drills. Its not to make you square off with one another, now you’ll for each other. Now you get to pretend to be a trainer holding mitts for their fighter then change off and end up being the fighter hitting the mitts. Don’t get discouraged either, just like it takes a few classes to feel balanced and smooth punching the mitts and boxing bags, the same thing can be said for getting to know how to hold pads. At your 2nd or third kickboxing class it will be a piece of cake for you.
Time for Abs
