The first 15 minutes
We start class with five mins of stretching and then jump rope. Jump along to high energy music for three 3 minute rounds with some calisthenics in-between rounds. Priming your body by breaking a light sweat will really help you get the most out of the rest of class.
Working on the Heavy Bags
Now its time to punch stuff! We glove up and get ready to work. At Westchester Fight Club we have a bag rack with 30 boxing bags, so every person in class can have their own. Hammering the crap out of a bag and imagining its your manager or ex is the greatest stress reliever. We aren’t just smacking the bag aimlessly, the trainer will take you through various combos of punches, knees, and kicks. The more you train the better you will become, new clients think a couple of our women in cardio kickboxing classes are competitors, thats how good their kickboxing has become.
Following a couple rounds on the heavy bags we then pair up members and give you boxing pads or a kick shield. Now we begin partner exercises with one girl holding pads while the other is pounding away on them and bobbing and weaving in between. Newer members will have easier combos while our girls that have been with us longer have more difficult combinations. In your very first class you’ll find out that holding for a partner isn’t a break. Its almost just as hard as punching them.

Your abs will definitely be feeling all the kicks and punches you have thrown. In our workouts we still take the time to work on our core and do some abdominal exercises. sizzors, Planking, medicine ball throws,.
and twists help to make you feel the burn and get your tummy toned for summer.
Now its time to pick up some weights. This is a great way to build some muscle while forcing your body to burn some extra calories. The Last thing we do is grab a set of dumbbells. Beating the piss out of the bag and holding pads already have your arms like jelly but there is no bitching now if you want toned and defined shoulders, back, and arms.
We conclude our training with some stretching and high fives for a job well done. In an hour of cardio Kickboxing you scorched more calories than you could running on a fitness treadmill, stationary bike, or lifting weights.
