The advantages of changing your routine is worth the new aches and pains. Kickboxing will transform your workout and lead to body toning and an increasing in aerobic stamina. Warm Up Routine

Our warmup kicks off with high energy music, whatever we are in the mood for that day, Rock, EDM, or some 90′s pop. We have to get the vibe and energy level up to get started. Which ever the teacher chooses that day just like the tunes, we’ll warm up with some stretching, jogging, or jump rope. We need to get the muscles warm and loose to get the most out of the rest of class.

Bag Work

Its time to punch stuff! We glove up and get ready to work. Our bag system holds thirty bags, this isn’t a taebo class, you want to feel your fist move something when you throw a punch . Hammering the crap out of a boxing bag and pretending its your compliance officer or ex boyfriend is the best stress reducer. We aren’t just whacking the bag aimlessly, the trainer will take you through different combinations working with punches, knees, and kicks. You will most likely feel a bit uncoordinated and off base in your first workout, regardless of your fitness level. Since the challenging combos will be different for your muscles, not just your brain. Though the routines usually are comprised of pretty basic combos, when all is said and done, it is a technique that gets easier with practice. Plan to give yourself 3 or 4 classes before you feel comfortable with the moves. All sessions mix the same basic moves in a different order or part of the combination.

Pad work

Following a couple rounds on the heavy bags we then partner members and give you boxing pads or a kick shield. One student will hold for the other. We split it up into new students and more advanced students so the newer girls have simpler more basic combos while the more skilled kick boxers get longer more intricate combos. In your very first class you’ll find out that holding mitts isn’t a rest period . Its nearly just as hard as hitting them.

Time for abdominals, even though without knowing it you have been working out your abdominals the whole workout, turning your form on punches and kicking. At this time we do some core work. side planks, siccors, and russian twists, all fun stuff. All power comes from your core so these exercises will help you out in future workouts.

Last part of class we will have each girl grab a set of weights and do shoulder, arms, and lower body movements. Now its time to finish strong and push through class is almost over. The Last thing we do is pick up a pair of weights. Punching will help define your arms but after a few rounds on the bag rack picking up a pair of dumbbells and following along with the group will help you achieve the sculpted and toned arms you’re searching for.

Cool Down

We end our classes with some stretching and high fives for finishing strong. In an hour of cardio Kickboxing you burned more calories than you could running on a treadmill , stationary bike, or lifting weights.
