Warm Up Routine

The coach will give you a combo that you’ll work on for the full round and try to perfect before you get too tired. Then after the round you’ll catch a quick breather, just enough time to show you the next round’s combo. After a class or 2 you will start to appear like you know how to kick some @ ss. You’ll most likely feel a little uncoordinated and off base in the first lesson, no matter what your fitness level. Because the difficult combos will be different for your muscles, not just your brain. Though the combinations usually are comprised of pretty basic combos, when all is said and done, it is a technique that gets better with practice. Plan to give your body 3 or 4 sessions before you feel comfortable with the techniques. All classes combine the same standard techniques in a different order or portion of the combo.
After a few rounds on the heavy bags we then partner students and give you focus mitts or a kick shield. Now we begin partner drills with one partner holding punching pads while the other is punching, kicking, bobbing, and weaving. Brand-new girls will have less complicated combinations while our students that have been with us longer have more advanced combinations. Don’t for a second think that holding pads is time to slack, in your first class you’ll discover very quick that holding pads is almost as tough as hitting them.
The entire body motion of throwing a punch or kick already gives you a sick ab and core workout. We still make time to train our ladies’ stomaches and do some abdominal work. To get our kickboxers ready for bikini season we’ll do all different ab work to help you get back in that swimsuit.
