The first 15 minutes


We blast some beats on the stereo and then begin our warmup. Get a high energy buzz in the room before we start. Whatever the instructor picks that day the same as the radio, warm up with some stretching, jogging, or jump rope. We perspire and elevate your heart rate to get the most from your body and help prevent injury.


Time to De-stress


Right now its time to put on our gloves and start punching stuff. Our bag area holds 30 punching bags, this isn’t a taebo class, you want to feel your fist move something when you throw a blow. Pounding the crap out of a boxing bag and acting like its your manager or ex boyfriend is a great stress reducer. We aren’t just striking the bag aimlessly, the trainer will take you through many combos using punches, knees, and kicks. You’ll most likely feel a little uncoordinated and off balance in the first class, regardless of your fitness level. Considering that the demanding moves will be different for your body, not just your brain. Though the rounds usually are comprised of pretty basic combos, when all is said and done, it is a technique that gets better with time. Plan to give your body 3 or 4 classes before you feel comfortable with the movements. All sessions blend the same basic moves in a different order or part of the combination.


Buddy Drills

After a few rounds on the boxing bags we then pair up students and give you boxing pads or a kick shield. Now we begin partner exercises with one student holding mitts while the other is pounding away on them and bobbing and weaving in between. New girls will have less complicated combinations while our girls that have been with us longer have more difficult combinations. Don’t for a second think that holding mitts is time to slack, in your first workout you’ll realize very quick that holding pads is almost as tough as hitting them.


Gut buster time


Time for Abs, even though without realizing it you have been training your abs the whole session, twisting your form on punches and kicks. At this time the class does some ab moves. planking, sit ups, and russian twists, all fun stuff. Developing the core will really help your movements improve, build your power and stamina, and it will start working on your 6 pack abs.


Now its time to grab some weights. Time to finish strong and push through class is almost finished. Using both cardio and weights in the same workout will help tone and define your arms, back, and shoulders. Beating the shit out of the punching bag and holding pads already have your arms cooked but there is no whining now if you want tight and defined shoulders, back, and arms.


Cool off

We conclude our sessions with some yoga and high fives for a job well done. In an hour of cardio Kickboxing you burnt more calories than you could running on a treadmill , stationary bike, or lifting weights.


Each part of our class will train the major muscles of the body. The combination of using the muscles in such a quick manner tones as well as develops a stamina that can quicken your metabolism.
