Take your self confidence back! Not only do you look sexier and have more energy from being active and working out, you will also be taught basic self defense. Our coaches are all fighters and they’ll teach you effective technique to get the most strength and speed from your kicks and punches. You don’t ever fight with another student in our Women’s Only kickboxing classes so you will never need to stress over getting hit. I will give you a walk through of a typical class here at WFC.
Stretching and Jump Rope
We begin class with 5 mins of stretching and then jump rope. Three Three minute rounds of jump rope and in-between rounds we do some calisthenics and pushups. Priming your body by breaking a light sweat will really help you get the most out of the rest of class.
Working on the Boxing Bags
Now we strap up our gloves and start hitting stuff. Our bag rack holds thirty punching bags, this isn’t a taebo class, you want to feel your fist strike something when you throw a strike . Beating the crap out of a bag and acting like its your manager or ex boyfriend is a great stress relief. The coach will give you a combo that you’ll work on for the entire round and attempt to perfect before you get too tired. Then between the round you’ll catch a quick breather, just enough time to teach you the next round’s combo. After a class or 2 you’ll begin to appear like you know how to kick some butt. The more classes you take the better you will get, new students think some of our women in cardio kickboxing classes are fighters, thats how good their kickboxing has become.
At this point we have the class partner up. Don’t worry you’re not punching each other but you will hold pads or focus mitts for each other. Now you and your workout buddy will appear to be a trainer and their boxer, and you’ll get to switch and play both roles. Don’t get discouraged either, just like it takes a few sessions to feel balanced and smooth striking the pads and boxing bags, the same thing can be said for getting to know how to hold pads. After your 1st or next work out it will be a piece of cake.
Core Training and Calisthenics
The core of your body, which includes the stomach and lower back muscles, will get an unintended work out just by doing the punching and kickboxing movements. However, a full kickboxing workout should include training the core and back through exercise as leg raises, siccors, and planks. All strength stems from your core so these exercises will help you out in future workouts.
We end our sessions with some stretching and high fives for finishing strong. In an hour of Boxing you scorched more calories than you could jogging on a treadmill , stationary bike, or lifting weights.
Each aspect of our training will work the major muscles of the body. The combination of using the muscles in such an explosive manner tones as well as develops an endurance that can accelerate your metabolism.
